Welcome to Harambee Ministries! We are deeply grateful for the prayers, financial gifts and volunteer hours so generously bestowed upon Harambee by all of our supporters.

Recently, volunteers from La Canada Presbyterian Church and Lake Avenue Church gave our buildings a face-lift by painting the façade and reconfiguring our layout. On Wednesday, October 31st, over 50 volunteers from Fellowship Monrovia and Northland Village Church helped put on Harambee Fest! Over 300 families gathered on the basketball court and experienced a safe place to have fun on Halloween. Gifts of the Spirit were written in chalk in front of game booths that were filled with candy and prizes. We even had a professional DJ lead the kids in a dance off and costume contest! We received food from Chick-fil-A and coffee from Rose City Coffee. There was something for everyone! In the words of Roshanda, a former Harambee after school participant who lives across the street, and whose granddaughter attends Harambee Preschool, “This is the Harambee I remember!”

We have also been blessed over the years to have indigenous leaders return to Harambee to assist with our programs and services. One recent example is when Dimitri Green, a former after school student, stopped by and utilized his expertise in information technology to enhance our network capabilities.” Events such as these are just the beginning of what I believe the Lord has in store for Harambee Ministries.

As we look to the future with expectant hearts, we want to pause and express our gratitude for your generosity and continued prayers. Because of your faithful partnership, we will be relentless in bringing mentorship, leadership and scholarship to students regardless of the challenges they may face in their everyday lives.

As many of you know, there are several changes that NEED to be made to bring the Harambee campus up to code.  We are grateful to announce that Harambee has received a matching grant of $150,000 that will go towards the necessary renovations.

We have already raised $100,000, but still need to raise the remaining $50,000 in the next few weeks to meet the fundraising requirement of that grant. Would you prayerfully consider giving to this goal?   We have never been more reminded of your overwhelming generosity than in times like these. We are excited to partner with you in this kingdom minded work.

We look forward to keeping you in the loop.  As our staff and ministry grows we will update you on all of our current events and projects.

Thank you for “getting together and pushing” with us,

With gratitude,

Albert Tate

With your continued help the programs and buildings for Fall will be stronger than ever, be on the watch for exciting announcements!
